An Opiod Symposium will be held Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Zazarino Center (the domed complex at the corner of Fruitville and McIntosh roads) at St. Martha Catholic School of Bishop Nevin’s Academy, 4380 Fruitville Road, in Sarasota.

The free educational event is presented by Humanity Working to End Genocide in collaboration with Florida Studio Theatre. It is sponsored by the Sarasota Ministerial Association, Diocese of Venice, Jewish Federation and Drug Free Sarasota. Supporting organizations include the Sarasota Chapter of the NAACP, the Sarasota Police Department, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Argus Foundation, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, Sarasota Downtown Merchants Association and the Community Alliance of Sarasota County.
