The Office of Environmental Accountability and Transparency was created in 2019 by Governor Ron DeSantis’ Executive Order. The Office, which is led by the Chief Science Officer and is located in the Office of the Secretary of DEP, is charged with ensuring key water quality objectives are clearly communicated to the public, as well as, organizing agency resources and scientific expertise, data and research to focus on and solve complex challenges. The roles and responsibilities of the Office of Environmental Accountability and Transparency include:
Dr. Frazer guides funding and strategies to address priority environmental issues, as well as, but not limited to, making recommendations for increased enforcement of environmental laws necessary to improve water quality within key waterbodies.
