DESCRIPTION:Florida Department of Transportation District One Secretary Billy Hattaway. \nDistrict One\, with a land area of nearly 12\,000 square miles\, represents 12 counties in Southwestern Florida. Its 1.8 million residents contribute to the 21 million miles traveled daily on its state highways. District One provides capital grant funds to 21 public airports\, including two international airports\, both of which are designated “Strategic Intermodal System” (SIS) hubs. In addition\, there are 121 registered private aviation facilities in the District. \nDistrict One is comprised of  Sarasota\, Charlotte\, Collier\, De Soto\, Glades\, Hardee\, Hendry\, Highlands\, Lee\, Manatee\, Okeechobee\, and Polk Counties. \nCheck in begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon. \nIt’s $35 for Argus members and $40 for non-members. \nTo reserve online\, click on the Eventbrite link in the “Details” section below\, fees apply. \nFor cash or check reservations\, call 941-365-4886 or e-mail RSVP@Argusfoundation.org.
